Meet Lexi…

Who is your ideal client?
I enjoy working with individuals who are looking to get to the root of their concerns. Many of my clients seek therapy because their past experiences and limiting core beliefs are keeping them in a cycle of “stuckness”, frustration, shame, and self-doubt; causing them to feel disconnected from themselves and others.

I provide a trusting space of affirmation, non-judgment, and trauma-responsive care, which supports a collaborative environment to safely process emotions and experiences. Every aspect of your identity is welcome in our sessions and I encourage authentic expression. I have more specialized experience working with non-binary, transgender, gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, kinky, polyamorous/non-monogamous, and justice-involved individuals.

Why do you like being a therapist?
I love being able to offer people a space where they feel truly heard, without the fear of judgment. I often have clients come to me with concerns that they've never felt comfortable sharing with others. I think it's a privilege to be able to be trusted in this way, not only by listening and affirming, but by guiding you toward effective and positive change.

What’s something you wish people knew about therapy?
Therapy is all about the client, so being open and honest about what you like, what you don't like, and what your needs and preferences are is helpful so that you can get the most out of your therapeutic experience!

Why can people benefit from therapy?
People can benefit from therapy by gaining insight, understanding, and self-awareness; especially as it pertains to their reactive patterns, thought processes, and how their past affects them presently. Gaining insight, understanding, and self-awareness aids in effective communication, conscious decision-making, emotion regulation, trigger management, and so much more that can help a person to feel more confidence and control in their life.

What does “success” in therapy look like to you?
Success in therapy is different for everybody! Progress that I've seen with my clients includes: improved ability to tolerate adversity and emotional discomfort, less intense and less frequent manifestation of symptoms and concerns, minimized internal and external barriers that affect goal attainment and true self-expression, and an increased sense of peace, ease, and confidence through life.

What’s something you’d like clients to know about how you work?
I am trained in Brainspotting, which is an effective brain-based therapy modality that helps to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain. Brainspotting is helpful in processing past traumas and limiting core beliefs, tackling a sense of "stuckness" and repetitive negative cycles, and so much more! I'm very passionate about this type of work and first came upon it as a client myself, so I've personally experienced the rapid effectiveness of this modality. Don't hesitate to ask questions if this is something that you're interested in!
